SUMMARY

Enmore House is a major renovation of a double storey semi-detached terrace constructed around 1890. The primary objective of the works was to replace the existing rear extension that was built to a low construction standard in the 1990s and had significant water leaks and damage, draughts and poor energy efficiency. The secondary objective was to modernise the house to meet the needs of a young family, including an improved layout, addition of a home office in the existing attic and compliance with modern building codes.

The proposed alterations are contemporary but sympathetic in proportion, material and scale to the original building. High quality and neutral external materials and finishes complement the character of the existing terrace and wider conservation area.
